Monica Forsman, LCMHC, at Resilient Solutions, Inc shares the following thoughts on Self-Compassion.

Research reveals that self-compassion assists in creating feelings of closeness and interpersonal connection - just the opposite of self-criticism, which can distance us from others.  Studies have shown self-compassion has a remarkable effect on our minds, our bodies, our relationships, and how we perform at work or at school.  Self-compassion is a practice that can be learned.
For example, self-compassion and gratitude can go hand-in-hand.  In his book Man's Search for Meaning, Viktor Frankl discusses that much in our lives is out of our control.  What we do have control over is our attitude in how we approach differing situations.  Practicing gratitude during difficult times can help us discover hope, when things appear as hopeless-  Gratitude can inspire us when we feel disheartened.  Likewise, gratitude can connect us to others when we feel isolated and alone.

Group for moms who have had a child die begins Monday, January 23, 10:30 - 11:45 AM

Group for those who have  had a loved one die begins February 23, 7-8 PM.
