Melissa has a Bachelor’s of Social Work degree from Weber State University and a Master’s of Social Work degree from Boise State University. Melissa has been married for 21 years and has 5 children. After several years of marriage and various family experiences, Melissa decided to pursue the field of social work with a hope of helping to empower individuals struggling to manage the challenges of life to find their own hope, healing, power, and meaning in life.
Melissa has worked in special education helping children experiencing various mental health disorders and learning disabilities. Melissa also has experience working with children and adolescents in foster care, and work experience in an inpatient hospital setting with all ages and populations dealing with crisis management. She specializes in working with children (6+), adolescents, and adults experiencing struggles with depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, self-harm, life changes/adjustments, religious conflict, crisis of faith, spiritual issues, relationships issues, trauma, LGBTQ+ issues, parenting, self-worth, emotional regulation, impulse control, anger management, and interpersonal conflicts.
